PRIVACY POLICY – Focus Nest

2. Overview
Focus Nest is a productivity application designed with privacy-first principles.
- The app does not require user accounts
- The app does not operate any backend infrastructure controlled by the developer
- Core functionality works offline using local device storage
- No user profiles are created by the developer
Focus Nest does not monitor which applications you use. It only detects whether the app is in the foreground during an active focus session.
3. Data Collection Principles
3.1 Data NOT Collected by the Developer
The developer does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to developer-controlled systems, including:
- name
- email address
- phone number
- contacts
- precise location
- photos or media files
- user identifiers linked to identity
No centralized database is maintained by the developer.
3.2 Data Stored Locally on Device
The app stores the following data only locally on the user’s device:
- focus session timers
- session history and statistics (e.g. duration, completion status)
- app settings and preferences
This data:
- remains on the device
- is not transmitted to developer servers
- is not accessible by the developer
Users may delete this data at any time by uninstalling the app or clearing app storage.
3.3 Analytics and Service Logs
Google Play may provide aggregated and anonymized technical reports (e.g., crash reports, ANR reports) to the Developer for service stability purposes.
The app may use local storage mechanisms within WebView components (Capacitor) for functional purposes.
4. Third-Party Services
The app uses third-party services that may independently collect and process data under their own privacy policies.
4.1 Google AdMob (Advertising)
Google Privacy Policy (AdMob / Google services)
Google AdMob may process:
- Advertising ID (AAID)
- IP address
- device information
- ad interaction data
Purposes:
- ad delivery (personalized or non-personalized based on consent)
- fraud prevention
- analytics and measurement
In the European Economic Area (EEA), consent is collected via Google UMP (IAB TCF 2.2). Google acts as an independent data controller for advertising data.
4.2 RevenueCat (Purchases & Subscriptions)
RevenueCat Privacy Policy
RevenueCat processes purchase-related data such as:
- transaction identifiers
- purchase receipts
- subscription or entitlement status
Purpose:
- verifying purchases
- enabling premium (“Elite”) features
- managing entitlements
RevenueCat may act as a data processor or independent controller, depending on context.
4.3 Google Play Billing
All payments are handled by Google Play Billing.
- The developer does not access or store payment card data
5. Legal Basis (GDPR)
Data processing is based on:
- Consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) – for personalized advertising
- Contract necessity (Art. 6(1)(b)) – purchase processing and premium access
- Legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f)) – security, fraud prevention, and service integrity
6. Data Sharing
- The app does not transmit data to developer-controlled servers
- Third-party SDKs may independently collect and process data
- These third parties act under their own privacy policies
7. Data Retention
- Local data remains on the device until deleted by the user
- Third-party retention is governed by their respective privacy policies
- The developer has no control over third-party retention periods
8. Data Deletion
Users may delete all local data by:
- uninstalling the app
- clearing app storage in system settings
Users may also reset or limit advertising personalization via device settings.
9. International Data Transfers
Third-party providers may transfer data outside the European Economic Area (EEA), including to the United States, using safeguards such as:
- Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs)
- other approved legal mechanisms
10. Children’s Privacy
The app is not intended for children under:
- 13 years old, or
- the minimum digital consent age in the user’s country (13–16 in the EU)
No intentional collection of data from minors occurs.
11. Security
Appropriate technical and organizational measures are used, including:
- Android sandboxing
- encrypted HTTPS/TLS communication
- data minimization principles
12. Permissions
The app may request only necessary permissions for functionality:
- Foreground Service – timer operation in background
- Exact Alarms – precise session timing
- Notifications – session alerts
- Full Screen Intent – waking up the screen for end-of-session alerts
- Wake Lock – session tracking while device is idle
- Vibration – haptic feedback
- Internet access – ads and purchase validation
- Receive Boot Completed – to restore active focus sessions after a device restart
13. No AI or Automated Decision-Making
The app:
- does NOT use AI systems
- does NOT perform automated decision-making with legal or significant effects
- does NOT use user data for machine learning training
14. User Rights (GDPR / CCPA)
Users may have rights to:
- access data held by third parties
- request deletion
- restrict processing
- withdraw consent for advertising personalization
These rights are exercised via:
- device settings
- Google / RevenueCat tools
- third-party provider systems
15. Changes to This Policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated from time to time. Continued use of the app after updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
